
Sheriff Terry
Crawford and the Uvalde County Sheriff’s Office have begun
to assist with the Clean Rivers Program. This program is
designed to clean the rivers, crossings, and the area that
surrounds it. The Sheriff’s Staff along with county jail
offenders are going to the river’s of Uvalde County and
picking up trash and debris. The Texas Department of
Transportation is assisting the Sheriff’s Department in
collecting and disposing of the trash.
On 8-31-2006
the Sheriff’s staff cleaned the Frio River on Hwy 90 East at
Knippa, and the Nueces River on Hwy 90 West. Approximately
20 cubic yards of trash was collected on this date.
The Uvalde
County Sheriff’s Office has also begun to participate in the
Adopt a Highway Program by adopting a two mile section on US
83 north and a second two mile section on SH 55 north. |
