ACT UPON ACCEPTING RESIGNATION OF COUNTY EXTENSION AGENT:

The Court unanimously (3-0) accepted the resignation of Carol Earwood, County Extension Agent for Consumer Sciences, effective August 8, 2007.

ACT UPON ADOPTING RESOUTION REQUESTING EQUITABLE TAX COLLECTION FEE FROM UVALDE
COUNTY APPRAISAL DISTRICT:
Judge Mitchell informed the Court that the County currently pays a fee to the Uvalde County Tax Appraisal District for collection of taxes. A committee

established to review and make recommended changes to the current payment
levy. Alice Chapman,
said committee and presented the Court with a proposed resolution directing changes in the current policy.

The Court unanimously (3-0) approved the adoption of a Resolution By The Uvalde County Commissioners Court Requesting An Equitable Tax Collection Fee From The Uvalde County Appraisal District. A copy of said resolution is attached to these minutes.

CONSIDER AND
ACT UPON CREATING COUNTY POLICY CONCERNING USE OF PRIVATELY OWNED VEHICLES FOR
A committee was formed consisting of Commissioners Scheide and Pargas to research credit card usage and reimbursement when a County employee uses a privately owned vehicle for County business and then seeks reimbursement. The committee was instructed to create a policy that would address this type of situation. No action was taken under this agenda item.

CONSIDER AND
ACT UPON AUTHORIZING SINGLE SOURCE PURCHASE OF MATERIAL AND HAULING NEEDED FOR
FLOOD DAMAGED ROAD REPAIRS:

The Court unanimously (3-0) approved the request of the Road Administrator to make purchases of road material and hauling from a single source in order to repair flood damaged roads.

The Court unanimously (4-0) approved the adoption of the following tax rate which is required to fund the 2007-2008 Uvalde County Budget:
General Fund Tax Rate $ .4395
General Fund Debt Rate $ .0028
FM/Flood Tax Rate $ .1267
FM/Flood Debt Rate $ .0007
Total Tax Rate $ .5697
The public hearings are scheduled to be held on August 27, 2007, September 10, 2007 with September 24, 2007 being the date set for adoption of the 2007-2008 tax rate.
