Also present were County Treasurer Joni Deorsam, County Tax Assessor-Collector Maggie Del Toro, County Sheriff Terry Crawford, and Road Administrator Wayne Everett.
The Court opened with the Honorable William R. Mitchell giving the invocation; the following proceedings were had:

The Court unanimously approved the First Amended List of Judges/Alternates for the August 2005-July 2006 Term, as presented by County Election Official Maggie Del Toro. A copy of said list is attached to these minutes.

The Court unanimously approved the ORDER SETTING SALARY OF COUNTY AUDITOR, ORDER SETTING SALARY OF ASSISTANT COUNTY AUDITOR and ORDER SETTING SALARY of OFFICIAL COURT REPORTER signed by Mickey R Pennington, District Judge of the 38th Judicial District. Certified copies of the same are attached to these minutes.

CONSIDER
Judge Mitchell informed the Court that the Texas Department of Transportation has declared surplus some property they own near the intersection of US 83 and FM 1050. The Concan Volunteer Fire Department is searching for land in the Garner Park area to build a fire station.

The Court unanimously approved a resolution requesting said property described by TxDOT control number 0036-37 as the same being located near the intersection of US 83 and FM 1050 be made available to the County of Uvalde. The motion also included deleting item #2 of the original resolution, which stated, “The County of Uvalde in exchange agrees to pay the appraised value of the property.” A copy of the corrected resolution and map of said property in question is attached to these minutes.

This item was not acted upon, as the values were not available from the appraisal district.

The Court unanimously approved the updated calendar for 2005-2006 Uvalde County budget.

The Court unanimously approved the recommendation of Judge Mitchell, County Attorney John P. Dodson and Road Administrator Wayne Everett to classify the Uvalde County roads as being third-class roads. Attached to these minutes is a copy of the Transportation Code – Chapter 251.
