MINUTES

 

 

 

The Uvalde County Commissioners Court met in special session on August 6, 2004 at 7:00 p.m. in the Cafeteria of the Utopia School Building in Utopia, Texas, with the following members of the Court present:

 

                                    William R. Mitchell, County Judge

                                    Randy Scheide, Commissioner #1

                                    Mariano Pargas, Commissioner #2

                                    Rodney Reagan, Commissioner #3

                                    Jesse R. Moreno, Commissioner #4

                                    Lucille C. Hutcherson, County Clerk and Ex-Officio Clerk

                                                Of the Commissioners Court of Uvalde County

 

            ABSENT:        John P. Dodson, County Attorney

 

The Court opened with the Honorable Rodney Reagan giving the invocation; the following proceedings were had:

 

1.      CONSIDER AND ACT UPON A PUBLIC HEARING PERTAINING TO THE CREATION OF AN EMERGENCY SERVICE DISTRICT AS REQUESTED IN A PETITION FILED BY CITIZENS IN THE UTOPIA AREA OF UVALDE COUNTY:

Thirty-two citizens were in attendance for the public hearing on the creation of a

proposed emergency service district in the Utopia area as requested in the Petition

presented to the County Judge and filed by the County Clerk. 

 

The following individuals addressed the Court:

            Rusty Spannagel – in favor of the creation of the proposed district

A.     H. “Sandy Sheffield – in favor of the creation of the proposed district

Jody Rutherford – in favor of the creation of the proposed district

Lois Farmer – in favor of the creation of the proposed district

Jack Farmer – in favor of the creation of the proposed district

David P. Kjar – in favor of the creation of the proposed district

Kelly Longbotham – in favor of the creation of the proposed district

           

            The Court took no action on this agenda item.

With no further business, the Honorable William R. Mitchell adjourned the public hearing.
