MINUTES

 

 

The Uvalde County Commissioners Court met in regular session on July 26, 2004 at 10:00 a.m. in the Commissioners Courtroom of the Uvalde County Courthouse with the following members of the Court present:

 

                                    William R. Mitchell, County Judge

                                    Randy Scheide, Commissioner #1

                                    Mariano Pargas, Jr., Commissioner #2

                                    Rodney Reagan, Commissioner #3

                                    Jesse R. Moreno, Commissioner #4

                                    Lucille C. Hutcherson, County Clerk and Ex-Officio Clerk of the

                                                Commissioners Court of Uvalde County

 

            ABSENT:        John P. Dodson, County Attorney

 

 

Also present were County Treasurer Joni Deorsam, County Auditor Alice Chapman, and Road Administrator Wayne Everett.

 

The Court opened with the Honorable Rodney Reagan giving the invocation; the following proceedings were had:

 

1.                  CONSIDER AND ACT UPON APPROVAL OF MINUTES:

·        Upon motion of Commissioner Moreno

·        Second by Commissioner Reagan

The Court unanimously approved the Minutes of July 12, 2004 and July 16, 2004.

 

2.                  CONSIDER AND ACT UPON PRELIMINARY PLAT OF MOUNTAIN VALLEY SUBDIVISION:

·        Upon motion of Commissioner Reagan

·        Second by Commissioner Pargas

The Court unanimously approved the preliminary plat of Mountain Valley Subdivision.  Proposed subdivision is located in the Con Can area and was submitted by Kenneth Arthur.

 

3.                  CONSIDER AND ACT UPON APPOINTMENT OF ELECTION JUDGES/ALTERNATES:

·        Upon motion of Commissioner Scheide

·        Second by Commissioner Pargas

The Court unanimously approved the list of election judges/alternates submitted by the County Clerk.  The appointment will be from July 2004 through June 2005.  Copy of the approved list is attached to these minutes.

4.                  CONSIDER AND ACT UPON OPENING BIDS/PROPOSALS:

The following bids/proposals were submitted to the court for consideration. They were set aside for review and examination with a recommendation of award being made at the meeting of August 9, 2004.

5.                  CONSIDER AND ACT UPON ROAD ADMINISTRATORS REPORT:

Road Administrator Wayne Everett informed the Court that the roads repair was about caught up due damage caused by the recent rains.

 

No action was taken under this agenda item.

 

6.                  CONSIDER AND ACT UPON LINE ITEM BUDGET AMENDMENTS:

None were presented to the Court for approval.

 

7.                  CONSIDER AND ACT UPON APPROVAL OF MONTHLY REPORTS:

·        Upon motion of Commissioner Scheide

·        Second by Commissioner Pargas

The Court unanimously approved the monthly reports, as presented.

 

8.                  CONSIDER AND ACT UPON PAYMENT OF BILLS:

·        Upon motion of Commissioner Reagan

·        Second by Commissioner Scheide

The Court unanimously approved the payment of bills, as submitted.

 

9.                  CONSIDER AND ACT UPON PAYROLL APPROVAL:

·        Upon motion of Commissioner Moreno

·        Second by Commissioner Reagan

The Court unanimously approved the payroll, as presented.

 

10.              CONSIDER AND ACT UPON RESOLUTIONS/PROCLAMATIONS:

The Court approved resolutions in honor of the following, with the meeting being closed in their memory:

      Lou Causey

      Guadalupe Ramirez

      Dr. James Pittman

                        Margaret Bracher

 

With no further business, the Honorable William R. Mitchell adjourned the meeting of July 26, 2004.
