MINUTES

 

 

The Uvalde County Commissioners Court met in regular session on June 26, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. in the Uvalde County Commissioners Courtroom, with the following members present:

 

                        PRESENT:       William R. Mitchell, County Judge

                                                Randy Scheide, Commissioner #1

                                                Mariano Pargas, Jr., Commissioner #2

                                                Jerry W. Bates, Commissioner #3

                                                Lucille C. Hutcherson, County Clerk and Ex-Officio Clerk

                                                            Of the Commissioners Court of Uvalde County

 

                        ABSENT:        Jesse R. Moreno, Commissioner #4

                                                John P. Dodson, County Attorney

 

Also present were County Treasurer Joni Deorsam, County Tax Assessor-Collector Maggie Del Toro, County Sheriff Terry Crawford, County Auditor Alice Chapman, and

Road Administrator Wayne Everett.

 

1.                  CONSIDER AND ACT UPON CALL TO ORDER, RPAYER, AND PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE:

The Honorable William R. Mitchell gave the invocation; and led the pledge of allegiance to the United States of America and Texas flags.

2.                  CONSIDER AND ACT UPON APPROVAL OF MINUTES:

·        Upon motion of Commissioner Bates

·        Second by Commissioner Scheide

The Court unanimously approved the minutes of the following meetings:

June 12, 2006 – regular meeting

June 12, 2006 – budget workshop

June 13, 2006 – budget workshop

June 14, 2006 – budget workshop

 

3.                  CONSIDER AND ACT UPON BAN ON OUTDOOR BURNING:

The Court agreed to continue the ban on outdoor burning, with no action being taken.

 

4.                  CONSIDER AND ACT UPON RIVER ACCESS PLAN:

·        Upon motion of Commissioner Pargas

Motion to forward the proposed river access plan to the Texas Parks and Wildlife for review died from lack of second.

5.                  CONSIDER AND ACT UPON ROAD ADMINISTRATORS REPORT:

Road Administrator Wayne Everett gave the Court the following activity report, with no action being taken:

      -Routine maintenance

      -Blading roads

      -Cutting brush

 

A copy of an activity and expense report starting October, 2005 through June 23, 2006 is attached to these minutes.

 

6.                  CONSIDER AND ACT UPON LINE-ITEM BUDGET AMENDMENTS:

·        Upon motion of Commissioner Bates

·        Second by Commissioner Scheide

The Court unanimously approved the line-item budget amendments that were presented by the County Auditor.  A copy of said amendments are attached to these minutes.

 

7.                  CONSIDER AND ACT UPON APPROVAL MONTHLY REPORTS:

·        Upon motion of Commissioner Scheide

·        Second by Commissioner Bates

The Court unanimously approved the following reports:

      Jail -June 5-12, 2006 (3); June 12-19, 2006 (3); June 19-26, 2006 (3)

        County Clerk – May 31, 2006; May, 2006; June 1-8, 2006; June 9-15, 2006; June 16-22, 2006

        J.P. #1 – June 1-9, 2006

        J.P. #2 – June 1-9, 2006

        J.P. #3 – June 1-9, 2006; June 10-16, 2006

        J.P. #4 – June 1-9, 2006; June 12-16, 2006

        J.P. #6 – June 1-9, 2006; June 12-16, 2006; June 19-23, 2006

 

8.                  CONSIDER AND ACT UPON PAYMENT OF BILLS:

·        Upon motion of Commissioner Bates

·        Second by Commissioner Scheide

The Court unanimously approved the bills for payment.

 

9.                  CONSIDER AND ACT UPON PAYROLL APPROVAL:

·        Upon motion of Commissioner Bates

·        Second by Commissioner Scheide

The Court unanimously approved the payroll, as presented.

 

10.              CONSIDER AND ACT UPON RESOLUTIONS/PROCLAMATIONS:

No resolutions or proclamations were presented to the Court for approval.

 

With no further business, the Honorable William R. Mitchell adjourned the meeting of June 26, 2006.
