The Uvalde County Commissioners Court met in regular session at 10:00 a.m. on June 11, 2007 in the Commissioners Courtroom of the Uvalde County Courthouse, with the following members present:

 

                                                William R. Mitchell, County Judge

                                                Randy Scheide, Commissioner #1

                                                Mariano Pargas, Jr., Commissioner #2

                                                Jerry W. Bates, Commissioner #3

                                                Jesse R. Moreno, Commissioner #4

                                                Lucille C. Hutcherson, County Clerk and Ex-Officio Clerk

                                                            of the Commissioners Court of Uvalde County

 

Also present were County Treasurer Joni Deorsam, Tax Assessor-Collector Maggie Del Toro, and Road Administrator Jesse Garcia.

 

1.                  CONSIDER AND ACT UPON CALL TO ORDER, ROLL CALL AND PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE:

The Honorable William R. Mitchell called the meeting of June 11, 2007 to order; gave the invocation; led the pledge of allegiance to the United States of America and Texas flags.

 

2.                  CONSIDER AND ACT UPON APPROVAL OF MINUTES:

·         Upon motion of Commissioner Bates

·         Second by Commissioner Pargas

The Minutes of May 29, 2007 were unanimously (4-0) approved.

3.                  CONSIDER AND ACT UPON REQUEST OF CHUCK CARROLL TO RE-SUBDIVIDE LOTS 45 & 46 OF CANYON OAKS SUBDIVISION UNIT 3:

·         Upon motion of Commissioner Bates

·         Second by Commissioner Moreno

The Court unanimously (4-0) approved the preliminary plat of the re-subdivision of lots 45 and 46 in Canyon Oaks Subdivision Unit 3.

4.                  CONSIDER AND ACT UPON REQUEST OF EDWARDS AQUIFER AUTHORITY TO PLACE SIGNS ALONG COUNTY ROADS:

·         Upon motion of Commissioner Moreno

·         Second by Commissioner Scheide

The Court unanimously (4-0) approved the request of the Edwards Aquifer Authority to place signs along county roads #103, #408, #428, and #429 stating “Entering Edwards Water Authority Recharge Zone.

5.                  CONSIDER AND ACT UPON REQUEST OF UVALDE COUNTY APPRAISAL DISTRICT TO RETAIN BUDGET AMENDMENT IN THE AMOUNT OF $16,493:

Judge Mitchell informed the Court that the Uvalde County Appraisal District is amending its budget and will have surplus funds in the amount of $70,998.  The County’s portion of the surplus is $16,493.  The district is asking to retain the surplus to purchase a GIS Mapping System.

·         Second by Commissioner Moreno

The Court unanimously (4-0) approved that the County’s portion of surplus funds, in the amount of $16,493, be retained by the Uvalde County Appraisal District.

6.                  CONSIDER AND ACT UPON ROAD ADMINISTRATORS REPORT:

Road Administrator Jesse Garcia gave the following activity report, with no action taken:

                        -Work on CR #360 bridge

                        -Mowing in Uvalde Estates

                        -Routine maintenance

 

7.                  CONSIDER AND ACT UPON LINE-ITEM BUDGET AMENDMENTS:

None were presented to the Court for approval.

 

8.                  CONSIDER AND ACT UPON PAYMENT OF BILLS:

·         Upon motion of Commissioner  Bates

·         Second by Commissioner Pargas

The Court unanimously (4-0) approved the payment of bills, as presented.
