ACT UPON APPROVAL OF MINUTES:

The Court unanimously approved the Minutes of April 24, 2006.

CONSIDER AND
ACT UPON ABOLISHING BAN ON OUTDOOR BURNING:
No action was taken under this agenda item.
3.
CONSIDER AND
ACT UPON PRESENTATION OF LIFE SAVING AWARDS:
Judge Mitchell presented the following with life saving awards:
Ismelda Ramirez – medical attention to hurricane evacuees
Ricardo Benevides – medical attention to hurricane evacuees
Scott R. Johnston – rescue of County employee from vehicle accident
A letter of commendation was received from the Utopia Fire Department to the Uvalde County Road Department for their assistance in the brush fire that occurred in the northeast portion of the County.
4. CONSIDER AND ACT UPON ROAD ADMINISTRATORS
REPORT:
Road Administrator Wayne Everett gave the Court the following activity report, with no action being taken:
-Re-surfaced CR #341 and # 343 with surplus material received from the
State
-Paved 1.1 mile of road in Deer Valley Subdivision
-Planning to pave roads in Uvalde Estates Subdivision
-Blading roads
-Patching roads
-Cutting brush
-Routine maintenance
5. CONSIDER AND ACT UPON LINE ITEM BUDGET

The Court approved a resolution in honor of Sgt. Jeffrey Scott Wiekamp of Utopia, with the meeting being closed in his memory.

ACT UPON HISTORICAL ACTIVITIES REGARDING THE FIRST MEETING OF THE
-Judge Mitchell gave a brief
history of the organization of
-Edie Huddleston read the first
Minutes dated May 12, 1856
-Susan Anderson, Chair of the Historical Society, gave an accounting of
-Nancy Feely, Chair of the Sesquicentennial, informed the Court activities
pertaining to the County’s 150 year celebration.
