MINUTES

 

 

 

The Uvalde County Commissioners Court met in regular session on March 13, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. in the Commissioners Courtroom of the Uvalde County Courthouse with the following members present:

 

                                                William R. Mitchell, County Judge

                                                Randy Scheide, Commissioner #1

                                                Mariano Pargas, Commissioner #2

                                                Jerry W. Bates, Commissioner #3

                                                Jesse R. Moreno, Commissioner #4

                                                John P. Dodson, County Attorney

                                                Lucille C. Hutcherson, County Clerk and Ex Officio Clerk

                                                            Of the Commissioners Court of Uvalde County

 

Also present were County Treasurer Joni Deorsam, County Tax Assessor-Collector Maggie Del Toro, and Road Administrator Wayne Everett.

 

The Court opened with the Honorable William R. Mitchell giving the invocation; the following proceedings were had:

 

1.                  CONSIDER AND ACT UPON APPROVAL OF MINUTES:

·        Upon motion of Commissioner Bates

·        Second by Commissioner Moreno

The Court unanimously approved the Minutes of February 27, 2006.

 

2.                  CONSIDER AND ACT UPON PRESENTATION BY MAGGIE DEL TORO REGARDING ELECTION ACTIVITIES:

County Tax Assessor-Collector/Election Official Maggie Del Toro gave the Court a presentation regarding the new election equipment which was used during the March 7, 2006 Primary Elections.  No action was taken under this agenda item.

 

3.                  CONSIDER AND ACT UPON PRESENTATION BY COUNTY PUBLIC HEALTH OFFICIALS:

Bob Oakley, Sanitarian with the Uvalde County Department of Health, discussed some of the activities of his office with the Court.  No action was taken under this agenda item.

 

4.                  CONSIDER AND ACT UPON ROAD ADMINISTRATORS REPORT:

Road Administrator Wayne Everett gave the Court the following activity report, with no being taken.

      Update on 7 Bluff crossing

      Cutting brush

      Blading roads

      Patching roads

 

5.                  CONSIDER AND ACT UPON LINE ITEM BUDGET AMENDMENTS:

None were presented to the Court for approval.

 

6.                  CONSIDER AND ACT UPON PAYMENT OF BILLS:

·        Upon motion of Commissioner Bates

·        Second by Commissioner Scheide

The Court unanimously approved the bills for payment.

 

7.                  CONSIDER AND ACT UPON PAYROLL APPROVAL:

·        Upon motion of Commissioner Moreno

·        Second by Commissioner Pargas

The Court unanimously approved the payroll, as present to the Court.

 

8.                  CONSIDER AND ACT UPON MONTHLY REPORTS:

·        Upon motion of Commissioner Pargas

·        Second by Commissioner Bates

The Court unanimously approved the following reports:

      Jail: February 21-27, 2006; February 28-March 6, 2006; March 7-13, 2006

        County Clerk: February 1-9, 2006; February 10-16, 2006; February 17-28, 2006

        J.P. #1: February 1-18, 2006; February 13-18, 2006; February 21-28, 2006

        J.P. #2: February 1-28, 2006; February 13-17, 2006

        J.P. #3: February 1-28, 2006; February 18-28, 2006; March 1-3, 2006

        J.P. #4: February 21-28, 2006; March 1-6, 2006

        J.P. #6: February 20-28, 2006

 

       9.        CONSIDER AND ACT UPON RESOLUTIONS/PROCLAMATIONS:

                   The Court approval resolutions in honor of the following, with the meeting

                   being closed in their memory:

With no further business, the Honorable William R. Mitchell adjourned the meeting of March 13, 2006.
