The Uvalde County Commissioners Court met in regular session on January 8, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. in the Uvalde County Commissioners Courtroom, with the following members present:

 

                                                William R. Mitchell, County Judge

                                                Randy Scheide, Commissioner #1

                                                Jerry W. Bates, Commissioner #3

                                                Lucille C. Hutcherson, County Clerk and Ex-Officio Clerk

                                                            Of the Commissioners Court of Uvalde County

 

                        ABSENT:       Mariano Pargas, Jr., Commissioner #2

                                                Jesse R. Moreno, Commissioner #4

                                                John P. Dodson, County Attorney

 

 

Also present were County Treasurer Joni Deorsam, and County Auditor Alice Chapman.

 

1.                  CONSIDER AND ACT UPON CALL TO ORDER, ROLL CALL AND PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE

The Honorable William R. Mitchell called the meeting of January 8, 2007 to order; gave the invocation; led the pledge of allegiance to the United States of America and Texas flags.

 

2.                  CONSIDER AND ACT UPON APPROVAL OF MINUTES:

·         Upon motion of  Commissioner Scheide

·         Second by Commissioner Bates

The Minutes of December 11, 2006, December 15, 2006, and December 21, 2006, were unanimously (3-0) approved as written.

3.                  CONSIDER AND ACT UPON APPROVAL OF FINAL PLAT OF VALLEY VISTA ESTATE SUBDIVISION:

The Court unanimously (3-0) approved the final plat of Valley Vista Estate Subdivision, as presented by developer Tim Kirkpatrick.  A copy of said plat is filed and recorded in cabinet #2, slide 236B of the County Clerk’s Plat Records.

4.                  CONSIDER AND ACT UPON PRESENTATION OF SESQUICENTENNIAL COMMITTEE:

This agenda item was postponed.

 

5.                  CONSIDER AND ACT UPON RENEWAL OF CONTRACT WITH COMMUNITY COUNCIL OF SOUTHWEST TEXAS:

·         Upon motion of Commissioner Scheide

·         Second by Commissioner Bates

The Court unanimously (3-0) approved the renewal of a contract with Community Council of Southwest Texas for use of the County’s Adult Activity Center located on West Nopal Street.  A copy of the contract is attached to these minutes.

6.                  CONSIDER AND ACT UPON APPOINTMENTS TO THE COUNTY HISTORICAL COMMISSION:

The Court unanimously (3-0) approved the attached list to serve as members on the County Historical Commission.

Commissioner Bates, acting as interim Road Administrator, gave the following activity report to the Court.

      -Mowing

      -General repair

The Court unanimously (3-0) approved the Road Department report.
