The County Clerk’s Office shall collect all fees prior to service being rendered

· Marriage License fee ($42) shall be paid prior to issuance.

· Informal Marriage fee ($37) shall be paid prior to issuance.

· Marriage License is valid for 30 days from the date of issuance.

· Marriage ceremony may not take place during a 72-hour period immediately following the issuance of the license – unless waived by Judge.

· Applicants must be 18 years of age.

Persons age 16 to 18 may apply for a marriage license with the signed consent of a parent, custodial parent or legal guardian.

· Applicants must present proof of age and identity (valid driver’s license, certified copy of birth certificate with a valid photo ID, passport, etc.).

· Applicants must present their social security cards or know their numbers.

· A divorce by either party must be final 30 days prior to the marriage application.

· A marriage license is recorded in the county where it was purchased.

· A marriage license purchased in any Texas county can be used anywhere in the State of Texas, other state, in most foreign countries (prior confirmation suggested), cruise ship, airplane and other means of transportation.

· Marriage License will be on file in the County where it was purchased. 

• Marriage License Search Fee ($21) is non-refundable and will be applied as a search fee or a certified copy fee when the clerk conducts a search of marriage records.  Fees shall be paid prior to search.

The required fee shall be paid in cash, money order, or cashier’s check (made payable to the Uvalde County Clerk).
